Simon of Cyrene helps to carry the Cross

We adore You O Christ and we bless You, Because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.

As they led Him away, the soldiers were afraid that Jesus was too weak to make it to Golgotha, so they seized a man: Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, laid the Cross on him, and made him carry it behind Jesus.
How did you feel Simon when you got lumbered?  To the whole world you were unlucky, wrong place at the wrong time. Dead man walking or trying to, No glory there mate but best not upset pilate’s henchmen.
I know you didn’t want to get involved, but from the moment your reluctant hands touched the wood of the Cross your eyes were opened and you saw beyond the blood, mud, sweat and humiliation and by the time we got to Golgotha your life had changed . And forever will your name be immortalised in My passion.

Lord Jesus wherever we stand in Your World, there will always be undesirables.
Wherever I see the disfigured, the down and outs, the junkies, scagheads, smackheads or alcoholics: Remind me;

Never let me forget that they are Your children too and have had a much worse time than me.
Let us pray for all who work for those who suffer
Doctors, nurses, home helps, carers, councillors, all who work in prisons,
all who work for alzheimer’s suffers,  Macmillan nurses, Spa workers and the Samaritans
