Prayer for those Government
King of Kings and Lord of Lords, we
give
thanks for those who are in Public Life.
We pray for our Queen and the Royal Family,
For the Prime Minister, Cabinet, Government
and Parliament
and for all those who assist and advise
them.
For those who serve in Local Government and
for all who work for local Councils.
Be present in all their deliberations and
guide every exercise of political power,
Cleanse every tendency to self interest and
inspire the ideal of serving others,
That tactics may be tempered by compassion
and decisions informed by wisdom
And our country be led into the light of Your
Kingdom.
We acknowledge our own responsibility to pray
for those who Govern us
and we ask You to remind all who make
up the Church in our Land to do likewise.
For we pray in the name of Him whose own
authority
flows from His readiness to serve,
Even Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
