Pause here a while and reflect
on those times when God, through whatever agency, has refreshed and sustained
you. If, unhappily, you have no such experience then these words and pictures
will seem simply twee. However He will respond if you seek Him, then these
words (from Psalm 23) will become meaningful |
| The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies:
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
for ever. |
A Modern Version
The Lord Jesus refreshes my spirit and shall lead me into quiet confidence. And I shall seek what is right for His sake. Even when times are tough, I need have no fear, for I leave
both my care and control to Him.
When enemies are around me He will bless me under their very noses.
For He is with me always and I shall trust Him for ever.
