Eucharist for One


Attempting to

You are invited to try it yourself. Have beside you a plate with bread and a glass of red wine.

I come again to praise the Lord my God 

Almighty God, unto whom all hearts are open, all desires known and from whom no secrets are hidden; Cleanse again the thoughts of my heart by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that I may perfectly love and worthily praise You, through Christ my Lord. 

Our Lord Jesus when asked to give The Greatest Commandment responded with two: 

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength; 

And: you shall love your neighbour as yourself. 
There is no other commandment greater than these. 

 Holy Spirit come upon me

Lord help me to base my life wholly on these Your Commandments 
 
 
Ministry of the Word

Collect  Help me, Almighty God, by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, to be ready to recognise truth that is new to me,
ready to abandon half truth and ready always to question my own assumptions and certainties.

A Creed
I believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten son, yet also present with Him at Creation, part of Him and necessary for creation.

I believe that Jesus came down from heaven, incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man to be the Saviour for all mankind. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, suffered pain and death and was buried. On the third day He rose again according to the scriptures, He ascended into heaven and is seated on the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge both the living and the dead and His Kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son and with Them is worshipped and glorified and has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one Holy Universal and Apostolic Church and acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look to the resurrection of the dead and the Life of the world to come.

 Alms and Petitions

I lose what on myself I spend; I have a Treasure without end, whatever Lord to You I lend, Who gives all
Whatever Lord I lend to You,repaid a thousandfold will be: Then gladly will I give to You, Giver of all

Lord bless me and show me how to use Your gifts wisely including all my money.

I want to  pray for the whole of Christ's Church:

Almighty God, I ask You to continue to direct  all Your churches towards a spirit of truth, unity and concord, so that all who confess the name of Jesus may agree in the truth of Your Holy Word and work together in unity and Godly love. Amen. Lord Bless the Churches I know................

Confession and Absolution
 
Do I earnestly repent of my sins? Have I sought to  love my neighbours? Do I intend to continue to strive to serve my Lord and keep His commandments, living daily in His Light? 
 
 

I hear the words of grace
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whose sacrifice I, too, can address you as Father, I acknowledge all the sins which I have committed since I last came to communion, in thoughts, in words and in deeds and remember them before You now...........

My sins are forgiven. Amen

Eucharistic Prayers
 
I lift up my heart to the Lord 

It is right and my duty that I, at all times and in all places, give thanks to You,  O Lord, Almighty Everlasting God 

Therefore with all the angels and company of heaven I worship and adore You, saying with them:

 And give Him thanks and praise

Especially for Your son Jesus through whom we have learned of Your love and received our salvation.

Holy Holy Holy, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of Your glory, Glory be to You O Lord most high. Amen

Ministry of the Sacrament:
 
 
I do not presume to come to Your table O merciful Lord, trusting in my own righteousness, but in Your great Mercy. I am not worthy even to gather up the crumbs under Your table.
But You are Father God whose Son Jesus Christ, on the night in which He was betrayed took the bread, gave thanks and said:
Take eat, this is my body broken for you.

I break and eat this bread in memory of You Lord Jesus


After supper He took the Cup and gave it to His disciples He said: This is my blood of the New Covenant

I drink this wine in memory of You, Lord Jesus

Grant  therefore gracious Lord, as I have taken the body and blood of Your dear Son Jesus Christ that my sinful body may be made clean by His body and my soul washed though His precious blood, and that I may once more dwell in Him and He in me.

Gloria

Glory be to God on high, and in earth peace, good will towards all. I praise You, I bless You, I worship and glorify You. I give thanks to You for Your great glory, 0 Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.

0 Lord, the only begotten Son Jesus Christ; 0 Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon me. You who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy upon me. You who takes away the sins of the world, receive my prayer. You who sits at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon me. For You alone are Holy; You alone are the Lord; You alone, 0 Christ, with the Holy Spirit, are most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

The Lord Bless me and  my family and friends and His peace be always with us.
