A call to Confession and Dedication

Cross Have I been slow to learn of Jesus? Reluctant to follow Him?. Has He called and I have not heard His voice? Has He been there and I have not seen Him? Has He sought help for a neighbour and I have not responded. Has He blessed me and I have not noticed?

Have mercy upon me O Lord.

Have I wasted my time or misused my gifts? Have I excused my sins or evaded my responsibility? How much of His love has reached others through me? How much have I cared about the suffering of others. Have I cherished things that divide or made it hard for someone to live with me? Have I been unloving in judgement, eager to condemn, reluctant to forgive?

Have mercy upon me O Lord.

CrossGod has many jobs to be done and awaits our willingness to become available. Some jobs are easy, others are difficult. A few are next to impossible and require great courage and forbearance. Some are enjoyable, others are not. Some bring popularity, others bring reproach. Some bring high office and human responsibility. Others can be done only by the humble. In all of them God will provide all that we require and when we are beset by His enemies, He will provide blessing under their very noses.

There is no difficulty in determining what He requires because if we are not certain it is He who calls then it cannot be He. He does not indulge in mischief.

Therefore let me dedicate myself to His service and patiently await His call. Amen
