Footprints
Continued
"Lord" I replied, "I cannot believe
that. Look at the footprints, they are not Yours but mine. If they were
Yours then the weight of You carrying me would make them much deeper.
No they are definitely just mine".
The Lord smiled with the love of a
wise father and said: "Of course they are your footprints, but I did
carry you. Not literally of course, but I held your hand to keep you
going. Look at the times when you were lonely- did I not guide a Good Samaritan friend to phone you
or visit you? Did that not lift your heart and spirit - did you
not feel better and able to face your problems? When you were estranged
from your loved ones and surrounded by hostilities, was there not
always a Veronica friend or
stranger ready to wipe your tears? or a Simon to help carry the burden of
your cross?
My child, you are stronger and have learned the value of kindness shown
when in need".
I remembered and felt much happier. I
understood that my prayers had
been answered during those times.
"My Child", the Lord continued, "I
often ask a service of those who love Me. A service to open their
hearts to My call and help another who is lost. Can I now ask that of
you? Will you let me show you who needs My help? Will you be a Good Samaritan, a Veronica or a Simon, my servant? For,
child, whatsoever you do for the least of my brethren, you do unto me".
